In a fireside chat with Indian business honchos like Flipkart chief Kalyan Krishnamurthy, senior Kotak Mahindra Bank executive and Uday Kotak’s son Jay, and Oyo founder Ritesh Agarwal, Tesla chief executive Elon Musk said that money is a database.
Musk, the richest man in the world and the first to be worth more than $500 billion, said that money functions as a database, defining the subdivision of all goods and services in the world.
Further he said "If you were on a desert island with either 10 apples or a billion dollars, you would always choose the apples.”
Jay Kotak highlighted this part of the conversation with Musk in a social media post. The Indian executives also spoke to Musk about subjects like simulation hypothesis, rockets, consciousness, electric cars, reincarnation, USA-India relations and more.
Musk also emphasised that a database serves as an allocation methodology, with banks acting as database operators responsible for the lossless and efficient distribution of underlying goods and services, represented by money.
In a groundbreaking event, Elon Musk welcomed a delegation of prominent Indian business leaders including Ritesh Agarwal (CEO, OYO), Kalyan Raman (CEO, Flipkart), Prashanti Ruia (Director, Essar Capital) and others to SpaceX's Starbase facility in Texas. This gathering offered Indian entrepreneurs an opportunity to engage directly with Musk.
The Indian delegation represents multiple sectors from energy, technology and manufacturing. The delegation engaged with Musk on diverse topics including AI innovations and the growing importance of India in the global innovative landscape.
