Nestle India's FY25 Headcount Falls 3.9%; Employees Get 5.2% Avg Pay Hike

According to the FY25 annual report, Nestle’s employees received a median salary increase of 5.2%, while the remuneration of managerial personnel rose by 3.5%

FMCG giant Nestle India reported a 3.9% decline in its total permanent headcount to 8,419 in the financial year 2024–25 (FY25), according to the company’s annual report published on 3 June. In FY24, the company had 8,736 full-time staff.

As per the data, Nestle India's workforce at the end of FY25 comprised 3,607 permanent employees and 4,812 permanent factory workers. Of the permanent employees, 2,745 were male (76%) and 862 were female (24%), while among the permanent workers, 4,593 were male (95%) and 219 were female (5%).

Additionally, Nestle India had a total of 7,831 contractual personnel, including 312 non-permanent employees and 7,519 non-permanent workers. Of these, 255 contractual employees were male (82%) and 57 were female (18%), while the contractual worker segment included 6,913 men (92%) and 606 women (8%).

At the leadership level, the Board of Directors comprised eight members, with four women, representing 50% female participation.

Employees Receive 5.2% Hike

According to the FY25 annual report, Nestle’s employees (excluding managerial personnel) received a median salary increase of 5.2%, while the remuneration of managerial personnel rose by 3.5%.

“These increases are a function of the company’s market competitiveness within its comparator group, as ascertained through a detailed annual salary benchmarking survey, and reflect the company’s reward philosophy,” the report said.

In FY25, the company’s Chairman and Managing Director, Suresh Narayanan, earned a total compensation of ₹23.47 crore, as disclosed in the report.

Nestle also announced the appointment of Manish Tiwary as Managing Director for a five-year term, effective 1 August 2025. Tiwary received a salary of nearly ₹3 crore for two months of service after his appointment as a key managerial personnel on 24 April 2025.

In his address to shareholders, Narayanan highlighted that the company crossed ₹20,000 crore in sales for the financial year ended 2025, noting a sharp rise in capital expenditure—from 1.8% of sales in FY2015 to 10% in FY2025. Nestle India reported a total income of ₹20,260.42 crore for FY25.
