Maruti Suzuki India on Thursday said it has exported over 96,000 units in the April-June quarter this fiscal, and its model Fronx has become the fastest SUV from India to clock exports of 1 lakh units.
The auto major's share in the passenger vehicle exports from India stood at 47% in the April-June quarter. The company currently exports 17 models to nearly 100 countries.
The company's export volumes in FY 2024-25 exceeded 3.3 lakh units, its highest-ever in any financial year.
Top countries for export include South Africa, Japan and Saudi Arabia.
Fronx, which is exclusively manufactured at the automajor's Gujarat facility, has taken 25 months to cross the 1 lakh export mark.
Launched in April 2023 in India, the export of Fronx commenced to markets like Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa in the same year.
"Our renewed focus on international markets has been instrumental in Maruti Suzuki’s continued leadership in passenger vehicle exports," Maruti Suzuki India MD and CEO Hisashi Takeuchi said in a statement.
