Actor Saif Ali Khan is undergoing surgery after he was attacked in an attempted theft at his Mumbai residence in the early hours of Thursday. His family confirmed the incident in a statement and mentioned that the 54-year-old actor is currently receiving treatment at Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital.
“There was an attempted burglary at Saif Ali Khan’s residence. He is currently in hospital undergoing surgery...It is a police matter. We will keep you updated on the situation,” an official statement by the family stated.
The incident has shocked the film industry especially the actor’s friends and fans, who have wished him a speedy recovery via social media posts.
The unfortunate event has also sparked conversations around Saif Ali Khan’s wealth and royal lineage.

Khan, often dubbed as the “Nawab of Bollywood”, comes from the royal family of Nawabs of Pataudi. Born to cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and actress Sharmila Tagore, he started his acting career with the movie Parampara in 1993 and has gone on to forge a legacy for himself beyond his royal lineage.
As per CNBC TV18, his net worth in 2023 was estimated at $150 million which is nearly Rs 1,300 crore at the present exchange rate. This is also attributed to Khan's brand endorsements, personal investments, and business ventures beyond his acting profession.
