India's Operation Sindoor delivered a powerful retaliatory response on May 7 to Pakistan's terrorist attack in the Pahalgam region. The terrorist attack claimed the lives of 26 civilians and triggered heightened tensions along the border.

The Army launched long-range aerial strikes using loitering munitions and kamikaze drones. It also deployed advanced extended-range artillery shells to precisely target specific locations. As per official sources, around 100 terrorists were killed during Operation Sindoor.

"Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in selection of targets and method of execution. These steps come in the wake of the barbaric Pahalgam terrorist attack in which 25 Indians and one Nepali citizen were murdered," the government release read.
