Delhi-based electric vehicle ride hailing service Evera Cabs said it has so far onboarded about 150 drivers and acquired 220 cars of BluSmart after the latter suspended its operations in April.
Evera is under the process to acquire 500 vehicles from BluSmart in the first phase, of which 220 have been acquired while the process for remaining 280 is going on.
The company said it is on an acquisition spree with a funnel of 1000 BluSmart cabs.
“This development follows a recent shift in the electric mobility landscape, marked by BluSmart’s suspension of services across key metros. The resulting market gap has created an opportunity for Evera to step in and meet the growing demand for dependable electric cab services, ensuring service continuity while rapidly expanding its presence across NCR and key airport corridors,” it said in statement.
The company will initially redeploy these vehicles in and around the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
Alongside the fleet integration, drivers from BluSmart are also looking to join Evera. About 10% of these drivers are women. Around 150 drivers have already started doing trips. The company is ramping up its recruitment efforts to ensure service readiness as the fleet scales up.
“As key players recalibrate, Evera is stepping forward with clear intent, absorbing proven EV assets and trusted drivers to ensure uninterrupted service across key routes,” said Nimish Trivedi, co-founder and CEO, Evera.

In the next phase, Evera will expand its airport network, extending services across all terminals of Delhi airport. While Evera previously operated only from Terminal 3, the integration of new vehicles will enable full-terminal coverage.
Evera is an all-electric, app-based taxi service currently situated at Indira Gandhi International Airport. The company caters to B2B and B2C segments.
