Vishal Mega Mart IPO GMP: The hypermarket chain is all set to make its D-street debut this week. While the initial public offering received a rather tepid response from investors, Vishal Mega Mart secured a 'subscribe' rating from most of the brokerage houses.

The company recorded a subscription rate of 28.7 times, as per data from exchanges. The bidding was primarily led by QIBs (Qualified institutional buyers) and NIIs (Non-institutional investors). The participation of retail investors, on the other hand, remained tepid, although the allocated portion was fully subscribed.

The retail portion saw a subscription of 2.43 times, while the NII category was subscribed nearly 15 times. The QIB segment stood out with an impressive subscription rate of 85.11 times.

The company continues to trade at a healthy premium. As of 9:30 am, the shares of Vishal Mega Mart were trading at a grey market premium of Rs 19, commanding a premium of over 24 per cent.

The Rs 8,000 crore IPO comprises an OFS (Offer for Sale) by the promoter, Samayat Services LLP, and has no fresh issue.
