Tata Group’s electrical appliance manufacturing company, Tata Electronics, is planning to hire over a dozen technical and sales professionals across California as a part of its plan to expand business in North America.

The company, via multiple job application posts on LinkedIn, advertised for roles including design and development of consumer electronic products and customer engineering manager for its semiconductor supply chain and EV automotive electronics.

“If you’re passionate about engineering excellence, product reliability, and driving business growth, join us to help shape the future of electronics manufacturing in North America,” said Tata Electronics.

The salt-to-steel conglomerate’s electronics manufacturing arm is also looking for outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) sales directors to increase its presence in America. It is eyeing sales professionals who can create new leads and guide them through various business development levels like NDA, promotion, follow-up deep dives, RFQ/quotation, and contracting, culminating in a design award. Additionally, the candidate must have an in-depth understanding of various cost factors in the packaging process and collaborate with different departments internally, like marketing, finance and legal.

“Lead business development efforts to acquire new customers for our OSAT services and continuously seek industry and customer insights to inform internal roadmaps and offerings,” said the company in a job post.

Tata Electronics Accelerates Expansion

This comes at a time when Tata Electronics, is making strides to expand its business both in India and internationally. The company is currently building India’s first OSAT facility in Assam with an investment worth Rs 27,000 crore. The facility, which is likely to kickstart operations in mid-2025, will focus on manufacturing platform technologies like wire bond and flip chip.

Apart from this, last year Tata Electronics along with two other Tata Group companies signed an MoU with American semiconductor manufacturing company Analog Devices to increase chip manufacturing in India.

Recently, in January this year, the company acquired a 60% controlling stake in Taiwanese company Pegatron Technology to boost Apple’s iPhone manufacturing in India. Pegatron India exports smartphones to countries outside India, including North America.
