Pakistan has entered into an agreement with World Liberty Financial (WLF), a cryptocurrency company in which the family of former US president Donald Trump reportedly holds a 60% stake, Times of India reported.

World Liberty Financial is a decentralised-finance platform backed by Eric Trump, Donald Trump Jr and Jared Kushner, who have pursued global business ventures. The startup, launched last year, focuses on blockchain innovation and cryptocurrency applications.

WLF recently secured a partnership with the newly established Pakistan Crypto Council (PCC), formed just weeks ago with the goal of transforming Islamabad into South Asia’s leading cryptocurrency hub. The PCC promptly appointed Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) as an adviser to bolster the initiative’s credibility.

Despite its recent formation, the PCC hosted a high-profile WLF delegation led by co-chairman Zachary Witkoff, son of Steve Witkoff, a known associate of Donald Trump. The delegation was welcomed by Pakistan’s top officials.

WLF has signed a landmark letter of intent with the PCC to accelerate blockchain innovation, stablecoin adoption and decentralised-finance integration across Pakistan, according to a finance ministry press statement.

WLF-PCC Partnership

WLF and the PCC have agreed to collaborate on multiple initiatives, including establishing regulatory sandboxes for testing blockchain-based financial products; expanding stablecoin usage for trade and remittances; tokenising real-world assets such as real estate and commodities; and providing strategic guidance on blockchain infrastructure and global regulatory trends.

During the signing ceremony, the US delegation engaged with several top Pakistani officials, signalling broad interest in the partnership. The agreement aligns with Pakistan’s goal to grow its financial-technology sector and establish a presence in the global digital economy. The government has announced plans to release comprehensive cryptocurrency-law policies soon.
