Singapore-based Parkway Cancer Centre (PCC) is keen to open more its CanHOPE offices in India to create awareness about cancer education, prevention and care, its CEO Yeo Kim Seck said on Monday.

Parkway Cancer Centre, a part of global healthcare services provider IHH Healthcare, has a CanHOPE office in Delhi to create awareness about cancer education, prevention, detection and cancer care, the official said.

The CanHOPE office, a non-profit organisation, also ensures that patients travelling to PCC Singapore receive well-coordinated holistic care.

"Whilst we are not building new centres, we do not rule out setting up more CanHOPE offices in India to better support patients living in various parts of India,” the CEO said.

Seck said that PCC provides a multidisciplinary cancer care offering better collaboration and communication across different specialties.

Over 1.4 million cancer cases are reported annually in India and most of these patients are diagnosed at stage III or IV1, making the overall treatment complex and layered. In such scenarios, multidisciplinary approaches not just hasten the treatment course but also result in better patient outcomes as it bring down mortality rates and boost survival rates, the CEO said.
