State-owned Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) on Wednesday announced the appointment of Burra Vamsi Rama Mohan, Director (Projects) as Chairman & Managing Director with effect from April 1 .
As per a Ministry of Power (MoP) order, his term of appointment will be from the date he assumes charge of the post– April 1, 2026- till the date of his superannuation on July 31, 2030, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, a regulatory filing stated.
The Board of Directors of POWERGRID, at its meeting held on Wednesday approved the appointment of Burra as Chairman & Managing Director (CMD), according to the filing.

Vamsi is not related to any of the Directors or Key Managerial Personnel of the Company and has not been barred from holding the office of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) by any order of SEBI or any other authority, it added.
With over 33 years of rich and diverse experience in the power transmission and telecom sectors, Vamsi has held several key leadership, policy-making, and strategic roles at both regional and corporate level in POWERGRID.
His professional expertise spans a wide range of critical business domains, including Projects, Procurement, Commercial, Regulatory Affairs, Asset Management, and Telecom.
