The list is topped by D-street star and Avenue Supermarts (DMart) owner Radhakishan Damani. MakeMyTrip’s co-founders, Deep Kalra and Rajesh Magow, occupied fourth position on the list, worth Rs 99,300 crore.

The report titled ‘India’s Top 200 Self-Made Entrepreneurs of the Millenia 2024’ has been published by Hurun India with an aim to celebrate the journey of first-generation entrepreneurs who’ve contributed to building the 200 most valuable companies post the year 2000.

Brokerage firm Zerodha’s founders, Nithin and Nikhil Kamath, are eighth on the list with their company valued at Rs 64,800 crore. Razorpay founder Harshil Mathur and Shashank Kumar also featured in ninth place with the payment service provider firm valued at Rs 62,400 crore.

The MD and chief researcher at Hurun India, Anas Rahman Junaid, mentioned that the report highlights the impact of self-made entrepreneurs, particularly in driving economic growth and nation-building.

“...The list showcases the extraordinary impact of self-made entrepreneurs on India’s economy, with a total business value of USD 431 billion- equivalent to a quarter of the value of India’s 200 most valuable family businesses, despite being founded within the last 24 years compared to the latter’s 69-year average age,” said Junaid.

The 21-year-old Zepto founder Kaivalya Vohra is the youngest self-made entrepreneur on the list, followed by the company’s co-founder, Aadit Palicha. While Mamaearth’s Ghazal Alagh is the youngest woman entrepreneur featured in the list. Nykaa founder, the 61-year-old Falguni Nayar, is the eldest woman entrepreneur on the list.
