Vikrant Massey’s Journey from Small to Big Screen
Massey began his career with small-screen shows like Balika Vadhu and went on to become a prominent big-screen actor starring in movies like Lootera, Chhapaak and 12th Fail. The early retirement of the 37-year-old actor at the peak of his career has shocked fans. His latest film, Sabarmati Report, which is based on the 2002 Godhra riots, was released last month and did quite well in terms of box office collection.
Why sudden retirement?
The actor broke the news of his retirement on Instagram but gave no reason behind the announcement. Fans in the comment section said that the trolling and backlash the actor received for his role in the film Sabarmati Report could have prompted him to take such a sudden decision.
“Yes, I have received threats, and more are likely to come. But, as artists, we tell stories. This film is based on facts, and it’s something we, as a team, are dealing with together,” said Vikrant in an interview.
