Steven Peter Devereux Smith, or Steve Smith, announced his retirement from ODI cricket with immediate effect after the Australian cricket team lost at the semi-final of the Champions Trophy 2025 against India in Dubai on Tuesday. However, the cricketer will continue with Tests and T20Is.

Smithhas been one of the most successful batsmen of Australia across formats. He was a part of Australia’s two ODI World Cup title campaigns in 2015 and 2023 respectively and a T20 World Cup triumph in 2021.
