Google today announced that it will grant free, one‑year access to its premium Google AI Pro plan, normally priced at ₹19,500 per year, to Indian college students aged 18 and above.

The offer runs through September 15, 2025, opening the door for thousands of undergraduates to leverage advanced AI tools at no cost as they pursue their studies.

Under the promotion, eligible students gain full access to Gemini 2.5 Pro, Google’s most capable large‑language model, along with enhanced research capabilities in Deep Research and premium NotebookLM features.

Additional highlights include Veo 3 Fast for generating videos from text and images, Audio Overviews for podcast creation and Gemini Live, which supports collaborative brainstorming sessions. The plan also provides 2 TB of cloud storage across Google Drive, Gmail and Google Photos, ample capacity for term papers, presentations and multimedia projects.

In a blog post unveiling the initiative, Google cited findings from a joint Google‑Kantar study showing that three‑quarters of Indians desire an AI “daily collaborator” to help them “grow and excel.” The survey also revealed that 95% of Indian students who have used Gemini report increased confidence in their academic and personal lives.

How to Claim?

To claim the offer, students must verify their status through the third‑party service SheerID on the Google One website by adding a payment method and completing a trial‑purchase process, though no charges will be levied during the free year.

Participants are required to register with a personal Gmail address rather than an institutional email.

By extending free access to its most powerful AI suite, Google aims to accelerate AI fluency among the next generation of innovators and researchers, reinforcing its position at the forefront of educational technology.
