Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Thursday at Blair House in Washington DC where they discussed issues including space, mobility, technology and innovation, Modi said on X. The meeting was held before PM Modi’s bilateral meeting with President Trump at the White House.
"Their discussion also touched on opportunities to deepen cooperation in emerging technologies, entrepreneurship and good governance," India's foreign ministry said separately in a statement.
In line with expectations, the tech billionaire and the US government’s “special employee” seems to have sought concessions from Prime Minister Narendra Modi during their meeting. According to the Economic Times report citing sources, Musk asked for lower tariffs on imported electric vehicles (EVs), as well as an early license for his satellite internet venture Starlink in India.
However, what caught the attention of the netizens is that Musk had brought his family along with him to meet PM Modi. The pictures of Musk’s children interacting with PM Modi has gone viral on social media.
Musk was accompanied by his partner and Neuralink director, Shivon Zilis. He also had his three children Little X, and the twins he had with Zilis, Azure, and Strider meet PM Modi.
