Zomato parent company, Eternal’s rally to its record high has reaped benefits for Info Edge, lifting the value of its 12.38% holding in the food aggregator. Eternal shares surged close to 15% and hit a record high of ₹311.25 on July 22 in earnings driven rally.

This rally in Eternal’s shares took the value of Info Edge’s stake in the company to around ₹37,226 crore, making up a third of the latter’s own market capitalisation. For context, Info Edge’s total market capitalisation stood at ₹94,184 crore as of today.

Rejoicing the increased value of its investment in Eternal, shares of Info Edge also tipped over 4% higher in trade today. The surge in Info Edge’s shares also underscored the impact of its investment in Eternal on its own valuation and market capitalisation.

Info Edge’s journey with Zomato (now housed under its parent company Eternal) began in August of 2010, when it made a seed investment of ₹4.7 crore for around an 18.5% stake. Over the next few years, the company doubled down, participating in multiple funding rounds and boosting its holding to nearly 58% at one point.

By the time Zomato went public in July 2021, Info Edge still held an 18.5% stake and participated in the offer-for-sale. It offloaded about 2.3% stake, roughly 4.93 crore shares in the offer-for-sale portion of the IPO, pocketing ₹357 crore, while retaining a sizeable 15.2% post-IPO holding valued at over ₹9,000 crore.

Over time, as Eternal issued more shares and its ownership structure evolved, Info Edge’s stake was gradually diluted to around 12.38%, translating to about 119.5 crore shares as of June 2025. With Eternal’s share price recently hovering above ₹300, that investment is now growing in size. This makes Eternal Info Edge’s single most valuable listed investment, contributing to more than a third of its total market capitalisation.

Aside from Eternal, Info Edge had also invested in another new-age company, Policybazaar parent, PB Fintech. Its combined equity in Eternal and PB Fintech, built on a total investment of just over ₹1,000 crore, is now valued well above ₹30,000 crore.
