Zoho CEO Sridhar Vembu Steps Down, Takes Role as Chief Scientist

In Vembu's place, the company co-founder Shailesh Kumar Davey will serve as the new group CEO

Sridhar Vembu, the founder of Saas major Zoho Corp, has stepped down from his role as the CEO of the company. Now, Vembu will take a new role as the chief scientist and focus on company's research and development (R&D) initiatives.

In Vembu's place, Zoho's co-founder Shailesh Kumar Davey will serve as the new group CEO. Meanwhile, Zoho USA will be looked after by co-founder Tony Thomas. Further, Rajesh Ganesan will lead Manage Engine division, and Mani Vembu will lead the Zoho.com division.

Taking to X, Vembu mentioned, "The future of our company entirely depends on how well we navigate the R&D challenge and I am looking forward to my new assignment with energy and vigor. I am also very happy to get back to hands on technical work."

B2B company Zoho provides business tools for communication and productivity.

In FY23, the company reported a revenue of Rs 8,704 crore which is a 30% increase from Rs 6,711 crore in FY22. Additionally, the company also reported a profit of Rs 2,836 crore compared to Rs 2,749 crore reported in FY22.
