A movie that inspires you…
Deewar, because I can relate to it. Everyone can learn something from the movie. One of the lessons is about being in the long race — you could be lagging in the first half, but you are saving your strength and eventually, will get ahead.

...and a song?
Jo mil gaya usiko muqaddar samajh liya. I am an investor in the stock market and regret is an occupational hazard. This song teaches me to move on.

When anxiety sets in?
I take a walk and talk to myself. I debate by countering my own arguments. I motivate myself.

Other ways to de-stress?
Music and dance. I watch music TV channels and sing along. Sometimes, I beat stress with zumba.

Lowest point in your life? How did you deal with it?
After failing a second attempt at making a success of myself in Mumbai, I decided to move back to Kolkata. But, I returned to this city of dreams in three months. I told myself that it is better to die in an ocean than in the Hooghly River. There have been many such moments in my life. When they come, I sit quietly and gather the courage to fight back.

An anecdote or lesson you’d like to share?
In my early days, when I was struggling, I told my friend that I wanted to buy an expensive music system. He advised me against it. He said it is a depreciating asset. So, I bought one second hand player and invested the rest of the money in silver. I remember that lesson even today and act to it.
