The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has not issued a heatwave warning for Delhi, but the extreme weather conditions are expected to persist in the city.
According to Times Now, the sky will be clear on April 21 and April 22. The maximum temperature is likely to remain between 39 to 41 degrees and the minimum temperature can remain between 24 to 26 degrees. The temperature is likely to increase in the next two days.
For a heatwave to occur, the temperature must range between 42 to 43. Earlier, the heatwave lasted for three days in the capital from April 7 to April 9. The heatwave is expected to return from April 17 to 20, with temperature remaining around 40 degrees Celsius. The temperatures may remain around 41 degrees on April 18, reported Times Now.
Heatwave expected in Gujarat, Rajasthan
According to CNBCTV18, IMD predicted heatwave conditions for several parts of Rajasthan and Gujarat on April 17 and 18. Warm night conditions are expected in these regions as well as parts of West Madhya Pradesh.
Other regions including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Coastal Karnataka and Gujarat will face hot and humid conditions on Wednesday. The discomfort index is expected to remain high due to rising temperatures and moisture in the air.
