Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on her record eight consecutive budget has announced Prime Minister Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana which to cover 100 districts with low yields, modern crop intensity and below average credit parameters. This scheme is expected to benefit 1.7 crore farmers, enhancing rural productivity.
"In this Budget, the proposed development measures span 10 broad areas, focussing on the poor, youth, farmers and women," said Sitharaman.
She also laid a six-year plan for pulses for self-reliance with special focus on tur, urad and masoor.
Furthermore, she announced that a comprehensive programme for raising vegetables, fruits production, and providing remunerative prices will also be launched.
