Budget Balanced Between The Rich & The Govt' says former finance minister P Chidambaram
In an exclusive interview with Outlook Business, former finance minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram shares his views on the Union Budget 2023-2024. He says that the Union budget ‘is balanced between the rich and the government'. Presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on the 1st of February, the Union Budget was titled 'AmritKal Budget' that listed the government's 7 main focusses this financial year. The Indian economy is still on “the right track” despite a global slowdown caused by the Covid pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said in her Budget speech Wednesday. This was her fifth Budget in Parliament — also the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government’s final full-fledged Budget. Shonakshi Chakravarty reports.
