Entrepreneur and content creator Ankur Warikoo, who is also the founder of WebVeda, shared his personal hiring philosophy on Friday. Speaking at TiE Delhi-NCR India Internet Day 2025 event today, Warikoo said he does not ask for the candidate’s resume, prior working experience, or any certificates. Instead, he asks only 20 questions to hire a candidate at WebVeda.

These questions are: What are the riskiest thing you have done in your life?, Choose between money and power? why?, What’s more important --- the institute name or the course you study?, Why do you get angry and lose patience? How often?, When was the last time you had self-doubt?, What would your worst enemy say about you?, and What do you believe you are best at?

Besides these, Warikoo also asks candidates about three things they learnt from the life so far, rate their self-worth on a scale of 10, and the talent that the individual is currently not using. According to him, this set of questions judge candidate’s self-awareness, decision-making style, values, character, and intelligence as a person.

The process is followed by face-to-face discussion about the job. So, this was the first past of Warikoo’s PPS (People, Process and Systems) model.

After this, Warikoo talked about the “process” part in which he believes that every task is broken down into repeatable elements, which are later converted into a workflow.

He further described the workplace policies of his own start-up, and claimed, “There are no managers, salaries are paid in advance (not at the end of month), unlimited leave policy, 10% quarterly profit sharing within the team, quarterly fully-paid offsite, and the birthday gift of Rs 5,000 Amazon vouchers”.

And most interestingly, everyone rates their individual performance at the end of every month, he added.

Warikoo then came down to the “systems” part, where he revealed that at WebVeda, the team is using 43 tech tools but the operations are 100% no-code. In short, it means all tasks related to managing operations are done without writing any programming code.

“Without coding, we have crossed over Rs 100 crore in revenue over the last four years. And we will not use coding till we surpass Rs 100 crore in revenue per year,” he added.
