Devraj Sanyal, CEO of Universal Music Group and EMI Music, is a “hard core global foodie” with a serious fondness for steak. He is often torn between Asian and Italian cuisines though, says Sanyal, relaxing with his favourite lunch at Hakkasan in Bandra West. Otherwise, he knows what to eat and where to get it as well – it helps that his family owns the franchise for Hakkasan, Yauatcha, Nara Thai and CinCin. Being in the music business, he travels extensively and that allows him to try new dishes, a privilege that he will give his right arm to protect. Sanyal enjoys his drink, with single malt being a clear favourite closely followed by wine. He has an enviable collection of wines tucked away and is constantly on the prowl looking for wine bars in any part of the world.
