Anand has been instrumental in transforming the group into a global powerhouse, emphasizing innovation, sustainability and social responsibility. Beyond his corporate career, Anand also has a keen interest in photography and film making. He also enjoys blues music and set up the Mahindra Blues Festival in 2011. Anand also set up an award platform named Mahindra Excellence in Theatre Awards and the Mahindra Sanatkada Lucknow Festival, a crafts exhibition and performing arts event held annually in Lucknow. He donated $10mn to the Harvard Humanities Center. Anand also founded the Nanhi Kali project which aims to provide primary education to underprivileged girls in India.
Anand is married to Anuradha Mahindra, a successful entrepreneur and journalist and the editor-in-chief of luxury magazine Verve and men’s magazine Man’s World. They have 2 daughters, Divya and Aalika.
