Mr Sayanta Ghosh is an Associate Fellow at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), New Delhi, and a Remote Sensing–GIS specialist with 10+ years of experience in climate adaptation, forest carbon modelling, and geospatial prioritisation of Nature-based Solutions (NbS). He has contributed to 28+ carbon finance projects (Verra, Gold Standard, Plan Vivo) spanning REDD+, ARR, and agroforestry across India. His expertise includes spatial analytics, AI/ML-driven modelling, carbon sequestration mapping, NbS suitability assessments, forest & biodiversity vulnerability mapping, and extreme weather modelling for risk-informed planning. He supports landscape-scale carbon finance and NbS projects through decision-support frameworks, scenario-based degradation analysis, and carbon stock/biomass modelling, generating MRV-ready datasets for project design and monitoring. He has worked with NMHS, MoEF&CC, and multiple state governments, and has experience in Himalayan landslide risk mitigation and field training for frontline staff and communities.
