Allu Arjun’s Sequel Breaks Pushpa 1 Record, Set to Join 1000 Crore Club in 14-Days Theatrical Run

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rule is likely to enter the 1,000-crore box office collection club, showcasing its success beyond Telugu-speaking belt. The much-awaited film is ruling the box office with nearly Rs 990.7 crore in collections within 15 days of its release on December 5, according to industry tracker sacnilk.com. The film is turning out to be a hit not just in India but overseas as well, with Rs 233 crores in its kitty in nearly two weeks. 

The film has already broken the record of Pushpa: The Rise (Part 1) which was released in 2021 and made around Rs 267.55 crore pan India. The movie glued audiences to the screens not just in India but globally, with its overseas collection being around Rs 36.3 crore.

Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 Breaks Record 

The film initially gathered much attention ahead of its release due to a stampede that unfortunately took the life of a woman and critically injured her son at the premiere in Hyderabad’s Sandhya theatre on December 4. Consequently, the arrest of the India’s richest actor, Allu Arjun, in connection with the death, which casted uncertainty about the film theatrical success. The film made the highest collection on day one with Rs 164.25 crore. The sequel has outshined Pushpa 1’s overall box office numbers in just the first week of its release with Rs 725.8 crore collection. 

The film has already become the sequel with the highest box office collection in 2024 surpassing Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree 2 numbers, which made Rs 713.15 crore in its nearly 13-week theatrical run. 

With the movie breaking many box office records, it is likely to bring massive success to the highest-paid Indian actor, Allu Arjun, who reportedly charged nearly Rs 300 crore for Pushpa 2. The 42-year-old has a net worth of Rs 300 crore, according to Forbesindia.com.
