A movie that inspires you…
Will Smith’s The Pursuit of Happyness. Sometimes, life can be harsh, but your mind and heart must have the eternal sunshine of hope and optimism.

...and a song?
Remember the Name by Mike Shinoda’s Fort Minor. You can often find me listening to the track. It brings out the best in me.

When anxiety sets in?
I try to focus on all the good things in my life — my family, meaningful friendships built over the years, economic freedom and all the opportunities I have had so far. I share my feelings with my wife in such situations, and her advice always has a calming effect on me. I also meditate.

Other ways to de-stress?
I love watching movies, playing board games with my family, and often take my adventure motorbike for a ride off-route. I am also happy playing with my dogs or DJ-ing.

Lowest point in your life? How did you deal with it?
It was when one of my family members had a health condition. However, my family responded with great optimism, as we were guided by divine intervention. At the end of it, we came out unscathed and grew closer as family.

An anecdote or lesson you’d like to share?
Back in 2002, I was running a small brand and was feeling rejected because of a few headwinds, when my mentor and ex-boss Shoaib Farooqi came to me and told me, “Sanjeev, remember one thing. You are destined for greatness. Never dream small, and never doubt your level of drive, commitment and audacity.” Since that day, I have never looked back. Even today, every time I speak with him, he says that I have only accomplished 10% of what I am capable of. Everyone needs a few believers in life — be it your spouse, mentor or a friend.
