Tripura plans to set up six eco parks in as many districts (excluding Dhalai and South Tripura), each costing ₹10 crore, to boost tourism and generate local livelihoods through joint forest management groups.
The initiative is part of a broader mission to create world-class tourism infrastructure, led by CM Manik Saha, with support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency.
The Forest Department also aims to build roadside markets and forest producers' outlets, helping local vendors, especially tribals, sell agricultural products in better conditions.
