Mumbai-based HERE Solutions, which provides mapping, location data and related services, does frequent surveys to understand the needs of its women employees. For instance, the Women’s Initiative Survey, part of their Women’s Initiative Network, is taken by both men and women, and helps understand changing requirements. This is in addition to its quarterly Pulse survey, which has a similar objective. Based on the survey results, the company decides on how to improve learning and development of the staff, as well as help with networking and work-life integration of women employees. To have more women in different job grades, the company also launched the She Matters campaign around International Women’s Day. During this campaign, employees were actively encouraged to refer female talent for various open positions. HERE Solutions also organises activities and workshops to encourage and motivate women. Not surprisingly, employees describe the corporate environment as friendly and encouraging. Of their total workforce of 3,657, the percentage of women in the company has gone up from 28% in 2015 to 40% currently.
