Deepinder Goyal’s Temple Acquires London-Based Longévous As It Gears Up For Wearable Launch

Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal’s health-tech venture Temple has acquired London-based longevity medicine practice Longévous, bringing its founders and team into the startup as it prepares for the launch of its wearable device.

Goyal announced the acquisition in a LinkedIn post on Thursday. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

Under the deal, Dr Robert Mohr will join Temple as chief medical officer, while Dr Avi Roy will become head of science. Longévous will continue to operate as part of Temple, with the two founders continuing to look after its existing clients, Goyal said.

How A London Dinner Led To The Deal

Goyal said the acquisition began with a chance meeting with Mohr and Roy at a dinner in London a few months ago. The two noticed the Temple device he was wearing and asked him about it, turning a casual exchange into a longer discussion about the science behind the product.

Mohr and Roy subsequently spent two months using Temple as their “daily driver” to track their activities. During that period, they worked with Temple’s science team to test Entropy and examine the data collected by the device.

“They challenged our assumptions and poked holes in our vision,” Goyal said. The pair eventually became involved in Temple’s validation work and reviewed the company’s first scientific manuscripts before submission.

“At some point, it felt like an obvious next step,” Goyal said, adding that he then asked Mohr and Roy if they would consider building Temple with him full-time.

Temple Adds Clinical, Scientific Expertise

Mohr is a board-certified physician with nearly two decades of clinical experience. He moved from emergency medicine to evidence-based longevity medicine and has experience in preventive and precision medicine, according to Goyal.

Roy is an Oxford-trained biomedical scientist who has worked at the intersection of longevity science and business. He is a co-founder of Founders Health and UDA and was previously a research fellow at the University of Oxford’s Centre for the Advancement of Sustainable Medical Innovation.

Goyal said Mohr’s role would be to bring “clinical grade expertise” to Temple’s experiments and the claims made by the company, while Roy will work alongside its existing science team.

The acquisition comes as Temple moves towards commercialisation. Moneycontrol reported that the startup has partnered with Zetwerk and Ethereal Machines to scale production, with plans to initially manufacture a few thousand units for domestic and international markets.

In a LinkedIn post on August 21, Goyal said Temple was now less than half the size of its earlier version and that pre-orders for a limited launch edition would begin soon, with shipping planned before the end of 2026.
