Shashank Kumar is the co-founder and managing director of Razorpay, one of India’s largest payment gateway. Kumar initially started off as the CTO of Razorpay and was promoted to become the managing director in 2022. He was born and raised in Patna, Bihar. He attended St. Xavier’s High School in Patna before earning his BTech degree in Computer Science Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee. Kumar began his career as a software development engineer at Microsoft in the United States, where he worked on core technology projects. Despite a lucrative career, he left Microsoft to return to India and pursue his entrepreneurial ambitions.
