I attended a programme called ‘Transformation leadership: Tapping into your personal DNA’ at ISB in February 2015. It’s a five-day programme delivered by some of the finest professors from across the globe.

What is your educational and professional background?

I am a commerce graduate from University of Delhi and I pursued my postgraduate degree from Symbiosis. I worked with Jabro Marketing and Advertising from August 1999 to September 2000 as a team leader and IBM Business Process as GM, transitions and project management. At present, I am transition and project management leader at Concentrix, heading a high-performing team of project managers that services the APAC and MEA regions. This team supports the Concentrix sales team in building tailor-made solution offerings for prospective clients from a pre-sales support perspective. My team ensures delivery of the offerings through the transfer of processes and technology and — in some situations — people.

What were your key learnings from the course?

The course helped me clarify my larger purpose in the business world and identify my core incompetencies. In addition to that, it also helped me learn how to manage my energy and create an alarm system to prevent unnecessary energy drain. I received tips that are now helping me be more aware of the people who work in my team. While we always focus on becoming efficient leaders, this course helps one become more effective as a leader instead.

What did you like about the course?

There are various aspects of the course that leave the participants in a state of awe owing to the level of self-realisation that one experiences. We all attend programmes that help us identify core competencies but identification of incompetencies is rare. However, this course has helped me realise how critical it is to understand one’s incompetencies because these turn out to be the roadblocks in the path to success at both the personal and professional level. Another interesting aspect is the guest speakers you get to meet in the course of the programme. They are living examples of how one can be successful in life by simply knowing one’s larger purpose.

What did you not like about the course?

The course leaves you wanting for more. I can’t think of anything else that I didn’t like about the course.
