An Uncanny Uproar

Their means definitely know no ends. By adopting several uncanny methods each day, farmers from Tamil Nadu, who are protesting against the center in order to reclaim the drought relief and pensions for old farmers, are trying to grab the attention of the government, in every possible way. From dressing up like Modi and whipping up farmers to stripping on roads to cutting off their wrists live on the television, they have left no stone unturned to capture the eyes of the masses, in order to reach the government for the past few weeks in the national capital. Nonetheless, it seems like the government has worn a deaf ear.

Although former chief minister J Jayalalithaa had approached the center to allot ₹40,000 crore towards drought relief from the centre, only ₹2,000 crore were released. With Yogi Adityanath waiving more than ₹36,000 crore worth farmer’s loans and states like Punjab, Maharashtra and Karnataka also planning to follow the suit, the farmers in Tamil Nadu  sure feel left behind.
