Three-Day Trading Week: Markets to Close for Good Friday on Friday

The stock market in India will remain closed tomorrow, April 18, on account of Good Friday. According to the stock market holidays list on the BSE and NSE website, no trading activity will occur on the BSE or NSE on Friday. Banks will also remain closed tomorrow, as per the holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India.

There were only three trading days available for market participants to carry out trading activities in this week as the market was closed on Monday, April 14. Trading in the currency derivatives segment will also remain suspended on Friday. Additionally, the commodity derivatives segment and the electronic gold receipts will also be suspended. Trading in all of these segments will resume on Monday, April 21.

All the public and private sector bank branches will remain closed for over-the-counter activities in observance of Good Friday. However, digital services will continue to function, allowing customers to access internet banking, mobile applications, and ATMs.

Commodity trading will also be closed for both the morning and evening sessions on Friday, according to the holiday list on the Multi Commodity Exchange. US stock markets will also be closed in observance of Good Friday. Similarly, National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange will also remain fully closed.

The stock market is scheduled to observe a total of 14 holidays in 2025. There were three trading holidays in April, including tomorrow. Following are the upcoming trading holidays in 2025:
