Press Briefing On Operation Sindoor: 'India's Fight Was Against Terrorists, Not Pakistani Military or Civilians’ says Indian Armed Forces

During the press briefing on Operation Sindoor on Monday, the director generals of the Indian armed forces revealed crucial details from the operation, including images of dismantled Pakistani drones and the impenetrable radar of the Indian air-defense system.

The director generals of military, air, and naval operations—Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, Air Marshal AK Bharti, and Vice Admiral AN Pramod, respectively—disclosed the full scope of Operation Sindoor.

Addressing the conference, the Director General of Air Operations (DGAO), Air Marshal AK Bharti, said that “'India's Fight Was Against Terrorists, Not Pakistani Military or Civilians.”

Air Marshal AK Bharti, Director General of Air Operations, praised the indigenous Akash air-defense system for its success in intercepting Pakistani drones during recent hostilities. “Our battle-proven systems stood the test of time and take them head on. Another highlight has been the stellar performance of the indigenous air defence system, the Akash system,” he said.

Commenting on Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli’s retirement announcement from Test cricket earlier that day, Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, Director General of Military Operations (DGMO), drew a parallel between cricket and military operations: “I was watching Virat Kohli taking retirement from Test cricket. Like many Indians, he is my favorite cricketer. Back in the 70s, during the famous Ashes series between Australia and England, two of Australia’s legendary fast bowlers — Jeff Thomson and Dennis Lillee — wreaked havoc on the English batting line-up. Their dominance was so overwhelming that the Australians came up with a saying: ‘From ashes to ashes and from dust to dust, if Thommo don’t get you, then Lillee surely must.’ If you look closely at the layers, you’ll understand what I mean — even if you manage to get through all of them, one layer of this grid system is bound to catch you.”

Vice Admiral A.N. Pramod, Director General of Naval Operations, said, “We have validated our anti-missile defence mechanism after the Pahalgam attack.” He added that comprehensive and effective layered air-fleet defence mechanisms are employed to protect the country. Vice Admiral Pramod also outlined the Indian Navy’s bubble-mechanism for national security.
