The automaker delivered 323,800 out of the total production of 345,454 for Model 3/Y and 12,881 out of the total 17,161 other models produced. Tesla didn’t mention anything about the reported deliveries, but the automaker did mention that due to a change in the Model Y’s line, production of the same was impacted.

“While the changeover of Model Y lines across all four of our factories led to the loss of several weeks of production in Q1, the ramp of the New Model Y continues to go well,” said the company in a statement.

Tesla missed the projected number of deliveries in the quarter. The automaker was expected to report 377,592 deliveries in Q1 by Tesla-compiled analyst consensus, according to Electrek. Electrek is an American news website primarily for electric transportation.

The company will post the financial results for Q1 FY25 on April 22.

The shares of the company were up by 5.33% to $282.76 on April 2 on Nasdaq.

Is Elon Musk Leaving DOGE?

This comes at a time when there are reports that suggest that Musk might exit from the newly created US Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). The news began to surface when US President Donald Trump praised Musk for his work as DOGE head but mentioned that the Tesla owner will eventually leave as he has got a “big company” to take care of.

“I think Elon is amazing... At some point, Elon’s going to want to go back to his company,” Trump told reporters, according to American news website the Hill.
