My Favourite

Kotak Mahindra Capital's advisor Falguni Nayar is fascinated by world history

I like Egypt for its pyramids. I can’t help but marvel at the architectural excellence and the effort that must have gone into creating these gigantic structures. The country’s history, with its Sphinx and Mummies, is fascinating and colourful. I also enjoy travelling to Tanzania for its safaris and watch the migration of the wildlife. The animals in their element across the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem is a sight to behold.

Lebanese food is my favourite. The food is simple yet flavourful and very healthy. I can never have enough of it. I also love puran poli, which is a must on my birthday!

City of Djinns by William Dalrymple would be my pick for best book. I also enjoyed reading Dalrymple’s The Last Moghul. He opened my eyes about our history — on how complicated yet fascinating it really is.

Being one with nature has a calming effect on me. I feel flowers such as marigold, through their different hues and brightness, speak to me. I am equally fascinated by winged beauties such as kingfishers. The light reflected from their feathers throws up beautiful shades of blue, orange and green. These birds are truly the epitome of beauty in nature.
