My Favourite

Naresh Wadhwa

President and country manager of Cisco India & SAARC talks about his favourite movies and more

I love watching films. Ever since I was little, I loved the cinema experience. My choice in films is partial toward classics like Devdas starring Dilip Kumar and Awara and Sangam starring Raj Kapoor. Sholay is my favourite film. Among the current crop I am extremely fascinated with Vishal Bharadwaj’s Maqbool and Omkara. I love his brand of entertainment.

Leisure reading for me means John Grisham and some of his titles such as The Rainmaker and The Firm. Jeffrey Archer’s First Among Equals and A Twist in the Tale are also good reads. When I need inspiration I look towards The Bhagavad Gita. Other self-help books in my library are titles from authors such as Paulo Coelho’s The Alchemist and Robin Sharma’s The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari.

I am a food junkie. There’s really no putting a finger on any one cuisine that could be my favourite. I love Sichuan dishes for its spice. I experiment quite a bit with food, but I drew the line in Taiwan when I was offered snakes! In Indian cuisine, I have a weakness for mutton curries, keema and Peshawari-style food.
