I read a lot of fiction. Not a penny more, not a penny less by Jeffrey Archer is a favourite. It has a smart plot. Another book I feel was way ahead of its time was The Man by Irving Wallace. I love the story, which chronicles around the challenges faced by a black man when he is suddenly declared the president of the United States.

I prefer instrumental music over vocals. Something like percussion, drums and tabla works best for me. Zakir Hussain is a personal favourite. It is always a delight to watch him playing live at jugalbandis with other musicians.

Starkly different, but the two genres that stand out for me are action-thrillers and comedies. I love The Bourne series starring Matt Damon. I can watch that film over and over again. My all-time favourite comedy is 3 Idiots. That film is filled with some really witty and memorable one-liners.  But the beauty of the movie lied in how the director took us through a rollercoaster of emotions.

Besides Indian, I love spicy Mexican and Thai cuisine. I am a chaat-freak. I could survive on paani-puri all my life. I preferably have it at roadside shops but Soam, an eatery near Marine Drive is where I end up eating chaat frequently. Being an avid marathoner, I burn it all during my regular run.

Undoubtedly New Zealand. It’s a perfect combination of mountains, lakes and modern infrastructure. I had my first skydiving experience there. I visited the country around 10 years back, with a group of family friends.
