While I love books across all genres, reading autobiographies of sportspersons is something I deeply enjoy. Playing with Fire by Nasser Hussain and It’s Not About the Bike by Lance Armstrong are two of my favourite books. Having professionally played a sport, I can relate to the lessons in these books, which also come in handy while managing organisations.

I am a total Amitabh Bachchan and Al Pacino fan, but there is no specific genre of movies I prefer as long as they have an important message to convey. Some of my favourite movies are The Rocky series, 3 Idiots, Bodyline and The Shawshank Redemption.

My favourite sport will always be cricket. I played it professionally for six years at the Ranji Trophy level, representing Mumbai during 1991-1993. I took four wickets during my debut game against Madhya Pradesh in the quarter finals and that will always be a memorable experience.

I relish anything my wife cooks. She prepares excellent crab curry and mutton frankies. Besides home-cooked meals, I absolutely love Thai cuisine. Whenever I’m travelling to Bangkok, I get adventurous with street delicacies such as papaya salad and fish and prawn dishes.

Goa is my most-preferred travel destination as it’s easily accessible from Mumbai and has great food, lots of beer and sun and sand. Once on holiday, I just like to curl up with a good book or go for a long run. Some of my favourite international destinations are The Caribbean Islands, Australia and London.
