Wipro Limited, a technology services and consulting company, has announced a tie-up with chipmaker NVIDIA to bring sovereign AI solutions to governments and enterprises worldwide.
The aim of the tie up is to deploy agentic AI services that will help enhance citizen experiences and improve public sector efficiency. To simplify, agentic AI solved complex and multi step problems without human intervention.
The partnership will utilize Wipro’s WeGA Studio ( a full service GenAI studio) and NVIDIA AI Enterprise software (an end-to-end, cloud-native software platform) to develop AI-driven applications in key sectors such as banking, emergency services, healthcare, and education.
Further, it will enable customised large language models (LLMs) for regional languages, beginning with Thai and expanding to Indian and South Asian languages.
Wipro’s Sovereign AI aims to focus on privacy-first AI solutions that ensure data security and regulatory compliance. It enables sector-specific AI deployments, catering to industries such as financial services, emergency response, and public administration. The initiative also includes the development of custom large language models trained locally to enhance natural language processing and citizen interactions.
Additionally, Wipro uses NVIDIA’s NeMo microservices to build a scalable AI infrastructure, enabling high-performance AI training and deployment. To simplify, Nvidia's NeMo framework is used for building, and deploying large language models (LLMs) and generative AI applications.
Nagendra Bandaru, President & Managing Partner at Wipro Technology Services, highlighted the need for ethical and transparent AI solutions, stating that the collaboration with NVIDIA will enable governments to develop AI solutions that prioritize data sovereignty and national security.
“There’s a rising demand for ethical AI practices and transparency in AI decision-making processes,” said Bandaru.
John Fanelli, Vice President at NVIDIA, mentioned that AI-powered agents can revolutionize public sector operations by enhancing accessibility, efficiency, and responsiveness. He said, "Wipro’s experience with the NVIDIA AI Software platform provides a powerful foundation for assisting nations and local governments in building and deploying AI agent services that are tailored to the needs of their languages and culture.”
