Tata Elxsi Partners with Mercedes-Benz for Software-Defined Vehicle Development

Tata Elxsi on Wednesday announced its partnership with Mercedes-Benz Research and Development India (MBRDI) for the development of Vehicle Software Engineering and Software Defined Vehicles (SDV).

Tata Elxsi will contribute to the collaboration with its expertise in autonomous, electric, and connected vehicle technologies. This collaboration will bolster Mercedes-Benz’s vision to lead in software-defined mobility to enhance driving experiences, safety, and performance, Tata Elxsi said in a statement on Wednesday.

“This collaboration underscores our deep domain expertise and capabilities in automotive software, including software defined vehicles, and provides us with a unique opportunity to contribute to the Mercedes-Benz vision of building the world's most desirable cars. We have been partnering with MBRDI for over a decade now, and this collaboration marks a milestone moment and sets the stage for further scaling and deepening our relationship,” Manoj Raghavan, MD and CEO, Tata Elxsi, said.

The statement said that Mercedes-Benz is advancing towards software-centric vehicle architecture and its integrated SDV framework is designed to deliver seamless digital experiences, intuitive user interfaces, and adaptive vehicle performance.

Tata Elxsi’s role will focus on scaling and accelerating SDV development through its AVENIR SDV suite and AUTONOMAI ADAS suite. The company brings extensive domain knowledge and access to state-of-the-art Mobility Innovation Centres and labs, enabling cost-effective and scalable software solutions for modern automotive platforms.

Tata Elxsi has been providing end-to-end R&D, product engineering, and digital services to OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers in the automotive and transportation industry.
