PM Modi discusses ‘Politics and Entrepreneurship Parallel’ on Zerodha Founder’s Podcast

Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his maiden podcast with Zerodha’s co-founder Nikhil Kamath discussed the parallels between politics and entrepreneurship. In the podcast, Kamath discussed how PM Modi changed India’s perception globally while explaining the role of marketing in an entrepreneur’s work.

He asked PM Modi for some tips that an entrepreneur can take and apply in his life. Responding to the question, PM Modi remarked that one should learn from the people they are surrounded by, they should always be networking and wait for the right opportunity to leverage their acquired learnings.

Secondly, the person must be sincere in his pursuit, following the laws and principles religiously. Lastly, he or she must always carry himself with pride and honor. All these things will have a cumulative effect on the person and his or her product’s perception and it will be received well all over the world, he said.

Foreign Travel Analogy

PM Modi shared how he used to travel abroad even before becoming the Chief Minister to create a strong perception about him. He said that he used to stay with the community members, where he got familiar with their strengths and used to learn and absorb their qualities.

Later, during former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s term, he got an opportunity to travel abroad where he utilised all his previous learnings. The visit turned out to be successful and marked his name on a global stage.

NITI Aayog Objective

Responding to the same question, PM Modi further said, “One of the primary objectives of NITI Aayog is to combine the strengths of the global Indian community.”

He praised the foreign residents of India for their good representation saying that the Indian-origin individuals worldwide are known for their low crime rates, high education levels, and respect for the law. “Their cumulative efforts are a key reason behind India’s growing global profile,” he remarked.

Entrepreneurs are National Ambassadors

Modi highlighted the significance of Indian entrepreneurs working abroad, calling them "national ambassadors." He emphasised that the individuals sent abroad by the government are the institution’s ambassadors but the entrepreneurs working there are ambassadors of the nation.

He further stated that taking them on board and leveraging their expertise and connections can manifold India’s strength.
