Logistics platform Delhivery has launched Delhivery Direct, an app that provides on‑demand transportation and delivery services to both businesses and individuals, Inc42 reported.
Under this initiative, Delhivery will offer pickups for local deliveries within 15 minutes of booking, utilising two‑wheelers for parcels and three‑ and four‑wheeler trucks for heavier consignments.
Customers can book intracity orders on demand through the app, available on Google Play and the Apple App Store. Delhivery Direct will enable clients to ship intercity consignments of small and large parcels to any of India’s over 18,800 pincodes where Delhivery operates.
During the company’s fourth‑quarter earnings call, Delhivery’s managing director and chief executive officer, Sahil Barua, stated that the service was piloted in Ahmedabad throughout the quarter. He announced plans to launch in Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai in the near future.
“We are now fully live with Delhivery Direct across the NCR and Bengaluru—two of the largest markets for on‑demand intracity service in India—and will rapidly expand to key metros. This launch provides millions of consumers and SMEs across the country with a logistics solution that simply works: fast, affordable and reliable, and completes the spectrum of offerings to our customers who can now use us for intracity needs as well,” Barua said.
Although still in pilot phase in the previous quarter, Barua attributed some of the quarter’s growth to its partial‑truckload (PTL) service. In Q4 FY25 the company’s revenue grew 24 % year‑on‑year to ₹ 517 crore, while volumes increased 19 % to 458,000 metric tonnes.
The Competition Commission of India (CCI) approved Delhivery’s proposal to acquire a majority stake in Ecom Express for approximately ₹ 1,400 crore.
“The proposed combination comprises the acquisition of at least 99.44 % of the equity and preference shareholding (on a fully diluted basis) of Ecom Express Ltd by Delhivery Ltd,” the CCI said in a release.
Delhivery is an integrated logistics provider offering a comprehensive range of services, while Ecom Express is an unlisted company providing logistics solutions to the Indian e‑commerce market.
