Uttar Pradesh is striving to achieve an ambitious milestone for any state by building a network of 26 airports by the end of 2026. The impact of this growth in aviation is evident in the rising passenger numbers. The number of passengers at state airports grew from 59.97 lakh in 2016–17 to a whopping 142.28 lakh in 2024–25. This growth in the number of air passengers highlights the rapid expansion of the aviation sector in the state and indicates an obvious rise in the demand for air travel.

Opening New Gateways for Development

Jewar’s Noida International Airport is the flagship symbol of Uttar Pradesh's aviation revolution. It is also one of India's largest greenfield projects.

This project has an investment of over Rs 36,000 crore, making it one of India's key infrastructure ventures. Phase 1 of the Noida International Airport project is building a capacity to handle 1.2 crore passengers annually.

In future, with the phased expansion, this airport project aims to boost its capacity to 7 crore passengers annually, creating a key hub for passenger travel, air cargo, logistics, and global trade.

The airport project is estimated to create over 100,000 direct and indirect jobs and accelerate industrial, commercial and service sector growth across Western UP, boosting the region’s overall economy.
