Union Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated India’s first tempered glass factory by Optiemus Infracom in Noida.
Optiemus partnered with US firm Corning to manufacture tempered glass for mobile phone screens.
The initial investment is ₹70 crore, with an installed capacity of 2.5 crore units per year, generating over 600 jobs.
Phase 2 will scale capacity to 20 crore units annually with an additional ₹800 crore investment.
