TiE Delhi-NCR’s India Internet Day 2025 Kicks Off Today: Top Tech Entrepreneurs, Investors to Attend

India’s top technology entrepreneurs, investors, and policymakers will gather at The Leela Ambience in Gurugram today, May 2, for the 14th edition of TiE Delhi-NCR’s India Internet Day 2025 (iDay). Over 50 leading venture capitalists, angel investors and strategic investors are expected to attend the event.

This year's event is centred on the theme ‘India 2030: From Digital Economy to Tech Superpower’, and will examine how the country can leverage its digital momentum to achieve global tech leadership.

India's digital economy growing at nearly twice the rate of its GDP, and is expected to account for 20% of the GDP by 2029, according to a press release by TiE Delhi-NCR. With 900 million internet users and rapid adoption of technologies like AI, 5G, and digital public infrastructure, India stands at a critical juncture in its technological evolution, it said.  “iDay is the arena where this evolution will be examined, debated, and propelled into action,” the press release said.

The conference agenda includes discussion over the role of AI integration in across sectors such as spacetech, fintech, e-commerce, and public governance. Sessions will also explore how digital public goods like UPI and ONDC have helped new business models.

"India Internet Day is where the digital doctrine of India is written, debated, and launched into action," the release quoted Upasana Sharma, executive director of TiE Delhi-NCR, as saying. "With AI revolutionising sectors and Bharat leading the way in adoption, this year's edition of iDay is all about giving founders, policymakers, and investors the room to rethink, reimagine, and rebuild for scale.".

This year's event is co-chaired by Akshay Chaturvedi, founder and CEO of Leverage Edu, Apurva Chamaria, global head of VC Partnerships at Google, and Upasana Taku, co-founder of MobiKwik.

The speaker lineup features prominent figures in India's tech landscape, including Sanjeev Bikhchandani (Founder and Executive Vice Chairman of InfoEdge), Vijay Shekhar Sharma (Founder of One97 and Paytm), Shantanu Deshpande (Founder and CEO of Bombay Shaving Company), Shweta Rajpal Kohli (President & CEO of Startup Policy Forum), Akshat Babbar (Managing Director of ChrysCapital), and Ankur Warikoo (Founder of WebVeda), among others.
