Orient Cement Q1 Profit Declines 62.4 Pc, Revenue Slides to ₹604 Cr

Orient Cement Ltd has reported a 62.4% decline in its net profit to ₹77 crore for the June quarter of FY27, on a year-on-year basis. ​ The company had reported a net profit of ₹205 crore for the April-June period a year ago, the subsidiary of Adani Group-owned Ambuja Cements said in a regulatory filing on Thursday.

Its revenue from operations dropped 30.25% to ₹604 crore in Q1 FY27, compared to ₹866 crore in the corresponding period a year ago.

Orient Cement’s total expenses stood at ₹506 crore, down 30.11% from ₹724 crore in the June quarter of the preceding fiscal year.

Moreover, in a separate filing, Orient Cement also informed the stock exchanges that it has acquired a 9.04% stake in Vena Energy KN Wind Power Private Ltd. The acquisition, worth a total of ₹12,34,350, includes equity shares and cumulative convertible preference shares. ​ "The company wishes to offtake the contracted quantity of electricity generated from the project as a captive user under the captive consumption framework prescribed under the Electricity Act and the rules thereunder," it said.

​The proposed acquisition will be completed on or before August 31, 2026, the company said.

VENA, incorporated in June 2014, is engaged in the business of power generation by using renewable sources of energy. It is operating a 46 MW wind power project in Mangoli District, in the State of Karnataka.

Orient Cement is being merged with Ambuja Cements, along with ACC, to create a unified pan-India cement platform under the Adani Group.

Shares of Orient Cement Ltd on Friday were trading flat at ₹134.30 apiece on the BSE in the afternoon session.
