NCLT deferred hearing on Vedanta’s demerger proposal to October 8 after objections from the Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry.
The ministry cited lack of disclosures, including details of the RJ-ON-90/1 oil and gas block and loans taken against such assets.
Vedanta’s counsel said NCLAT had already cleared the restructuring of its power and metal businesses after settlement with EPC contractor Sepco.
Sepco withdrew its intervention after settling a ₹1,251 crore debt dispute with Vedanta’s Talwandi Sabo Power.
